My largest marlin...
October 15, 2011
This is my largest marlin. It weighed in at 773 lbs.

After a good day of catching some onos and mahimahi with my son-in-law, B.J. Cabanting, we were heading home from the Q buoy. We had one of our favorite lures out, looking to hook up with a big ahi. As the sun was setting, we got a big strike. Thinking it was a ahi, we saw the water explode. We knew we were in for a fight with a big marlin. We were hoping it would throw the hook. After fighting the marlin for 3 hours, it came up tail wrapped, so we couldn't release it. B.J. and I could not get this marlin into the boat, so we dragged it back to the harbor. We got in around midnight and there were at least 50 family and friends to help us with the marlin. Benny Yamamoto opened his shop to use his equipment to weigh the marlin. This marlin did not go to waste. It supplied a few parties.
